We tend to go exploring on the weekends here in Washington. There is sooo much to see and do, and I cant believe it took us so long to get to Mt. St. Helen’s. Below are a few images from our visit there, Its really interesting to look at them. Pay special attention to the trees!!! Further from the volcano, they are all so lush, green and the same height!!! That’s not something you see a lot of here in the Pacific Northwest. ( clearly they were wiped out when it erupted and have all come back at the same time!!) As we got closer to the volcano, they just disappeared. In most spots you can see remnants of tree stumps everywhere. It looks like someone came in and just chopped them all down. Mt. St. Helen’s erupted in 1980, and there is still little signs of life near the volcano. There are tons of trails to explore but signs posted everywhere to stay on them because close to the volcano there is literally less then an inch of growth in most areas still to this day. Pretty cool stuff!!!!
